Japan!

Back in December we went away to Japan for Christmas and New Years, We spent Christmas in Tokyo with friends, Me, my husband and our friend went as a group, it was our friends first time in Japan.

We started off flying to Helsinki and enjoying a nice coffee at the Moomin Cafe and having a rest before setting off on a 14 hour flight.

The flight was pretty good, we flew south and most of the flight was at night so I slept most of it.
Arrival was nice and simple, picked up our bags and Wifi before hopping on a train and directly to our first hotel in the middle of Shinjuku, the first 5 days were going to be relaxing around Tokyo and showing our friend around.

The first 3 days were spent just exploring and spending time with my other friend and bestie who lives locally to Tokyo, 3 days goes so fast in Tokyo.

Day Highlights:
Day 1 - 20th December) Jet lagged and spending time around local area shopping and getting sorted
Day 2 - 21st December) Disney Land Tokyo! In hindight going on the 2nd day jetlagged was a mistake!
Day 3 - 22nd December) Resting and a bit more exploring of Shinjuku.

For day 4 we moved to a new hotel, I insisted on spending Christmas day in Ikebukuro, specifically above Sunshine city, Our room was amazing and we had the best view of the surrounding area. The room also had fast early morning access to teh shopping center and PokeCenter where we spent entirely too much money.
Christmas day was fun as I had prebooked a Christmas dinner for 4 at the British pub Hobbgoblin with my bestie, we had to go to bed early tho as the next hotel change was in the morning and a very long way away.

Day Highlights:
Day 4 - 23rd December) Exploring Ikebukuro and visiting the Skytree, Akihabara and several other areas of the city
Day 5 - 24th December) Shopping around Ikebukuro, meeting up with my bestie and expolring Ginza
Day 6 - 25th December) We sent a lot of Christmas day exploring some pretty cool hidden parts of the city before meeting up with my bestie again for Christmas dinner in an english pup called the Hobbgoblin.

Day 5 Started with us sorting out the dozens of plushies we had bought at the Pokecenter and making a dash to the airport to get to Hokkaido for the evening. The plan was to fly to Minn Chitose, spend the night at the airport and then take a train to the mountains where we would spend the night glamping. We had decided to visit the ICe Village of Hokkaido which is around over winter, unfortuently a blizzard had set in as we arrived. we made it to the glamping site ... barely but it was entirely worth it, we were greeted with a huge igloo tent filled with food for us to make a hotpot. first we headed to the ice village tho as we were only there for 1 night, unfortuently due to the blizzard, a lot was closed.
